One of our most beautiful and talented mares, Angola effortlessly claims her tiara as princess of Green Gate Farm.
With her striking appearance and commanding presence, Angola easily woos all who behold her. She carries herself with the esteem and charisma we so value in our Arabian horses. Her correct conformation combined with this arrogant self-carriage make her a striking figure in the show ring, with her fluid movement and graceful mannerisms easily capturing the hearts of judges. Angola has found success competing against some of the best warmbloods Counter Canter has to offer, proving her prowess as not only a show horse but as a showman. She commands the arena with her charm and charisma as a natural entertainer.
This attitude of self-assuredness comes undoubtedly from her incredible sire, Angleter, a renowned son of Namaz bred by Tersk Stud. Angleter is a remarkable show horse in his own right with numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze medals from the Russian and ECAHO show circuits. As a straight Russian-bred, he has repeatedly bested horses of modern mixed pedigrees, proving there is still immense value in preserving the purity of these classic bloodlines. He is a prepotent sire, continuously passing his superb movement, trainability and confidence onto his offspring, often to great success as in the case of his daughter, Angola.
While her sire may have contributed his showmanship and charisma, Angola's dam, Akbarsa, has passed on her refinement, grace, and strong conformation to Angola. Akbarsa, also bred by Tersk Stud, is a classic Russian mare with her clean contours, long, correct legs, and overall superb balance. She has produced numerous successful offspring by both classic Russian and modern mixed-blood sires, suggesting her value as a broodmare. Only shown once herself, Akbarsa garnered a Junior Gold Championship at the Russian Nationals as a two-year-old. Given more opportunities, she undoubtedly would have collected more medals.
Angola possesses as much, if not more talent than the summation of her parents, who were never shown undersaddle. As a Grand Prix dressage competitor, she has proven herself against Counter Canter’s best warmbloods, Iberians and other sport horses. Her natural elasticity, grace and trainability are traits she is continuing to pass on to her offspring, with several foals schooling and showing at the high levels as well.
As she continues to find success in the upper levels of dressage, we will continue to cheer her on and showcase both her talent as a sport horse and her prowess as a broodmare, as her offpsring to date are displaying remarkable promise as sport horses themselves.
